My role was to help separate network circuits during the divestiture of AT&T, Lucent, and NCR. I defined the process used to plan, implement, and record information from each network circuit evaluation and change order. Additionally, I developed a client/server application to automate the process among different departments and record the transaction for audit purposes.
I analyzed existing circuit deployment and developed alternate routes to separate AT&T and Lucent networks. The IP engineering team’s workflow process was disjointed, so I created a common, repeatable process workflow application to document circuit separation.
- Facilitated the on-time completion of the AT&T/Lucent breakup by improving the workflow process for separating their circuits.
- Discovered unused circuits and saved $5K per circuit reduced during the transition by devising alternative solutions.
