My responsibility was to lead a team of developers and support an international fault management framework including Remedy ARS and OpenView Network Node Manager & OpenView Operations. The recent divestiture from AT&T had business operations in chaos. By applying some analysis to data retrieved from the network management systems. I discovered ways to save $8-$12 Million dollars per year for Lucent’s business operations. Further research determined associated value for each network and server element, allowing me to recommend infrastructure changes that had the greatest impact upon operational costs.  I helped eliminate over-engineered network circuits with insufficient traffic, and also prevented server downtime by using trend analysis to upgrade key e-commerce systems prior to growth beyond their capacity.
